Grape pomace's potential on semi‐arid soil health enhances performance of maize, wheat, and grape crops

چکیده

Background Grape pomace (GP) is a by-product of wineries after filtering the grape juice for wine production. GP contains seeds, pulp, skin, and stalks with acidic properties, it normally composted before using as soil amendment. However, composting requires more time, labor, equipment; furthermore, loses some desirable organic acids arid soils. The properties these plant nutrients in make amendment soils both non-composted forms. Aim This study investigates potential directly applying its impact on health performance. Methods To test amendment, greenhouse field studies were conducted by combining existing management practices (manure application used fertigation study) to assess effects crop (maize, wheat, grape) Results Adding 5% an alkaline significantly increased maize wheat growth shoot nutrient concentrations grapes (48% yield increase). significance maize, was associated enhancements (i.e., supplied, increase matter microbial biomass increase, reduction pH, better mobilization). Conclusion has direct use improvement, especially high pH limited matter.

Wine by-products: phenolic characterization and antioxidant activity evaluation of grapes and grape pomaces from six different French grape varieties.

Grenache, Syrah, Carignan Noir, Mourvèdre, Counoise and Alicante Bouchet grape seeds and skins, harvested in 2009 and 2010 in the Rhône valley area of France, and their respective pomaces remaining after vinification, were analyzed for their phenolic composition and antioxidant activity. The polyphenol content was quantified by HPLC and the Folin-Ciocalteu assay. The antioxidant potential was m...

Grape products and oral health.

Oral diseases, including dental caries, periodontal disease, and tooth loss, affect the majority of the population and can affect a person's overall health. Raisins contain polyphenols, flavonoids, and high levels of iron that may benefit human health. However, their oral health benefits are less well understood. We hypothesized that raisins contain antimicrobial phytochemicals capable of suppr...

Auxin synthesis-encoding transgene enhances grape fecundity.

Grape (Vitis vinifera) yield is largely dependent on the fecundity of the cultivar. The average number of inflorescences per shoot (i.e. shoot fruitfulness) is a trait related to fecundity of each grapevine. Berry number and weight per bunch are other features affecting grape yield. An ovule-specific auxin-synthesizing (DefH9-iaaM) transgene that increases the indole-3-acetic acid content of gr...

Use of grape pomaces to produce biomass of aKomagataella pastoris strain expressing a bovine chymosin activity

The use of agroindustrial wastes not only decreases bioprocesses and disposal costs but also contributes to the upgrading of the residues. An active recombinant methanol-inducible bovine chymosin has been expressed in our laboratory in the yeastKomagataella pastoris, and grape pomace extracts (GRE) were proposed as a convenient C-energy source for the biomass production of the genetically engin...

Grape Juices and Their Grape-Apple Blends

This study investigated the effects of ethyl maltol and carbonation on cold-pressed Venus (new Arkansas seedless grape release, 60% Vitis vinifera L. x 40% Vitis labrusca L.) and Concord (Vitis labrusca L.) grape juices and their grape-apple blends. Sensory analysis indicated Venus juice rated higher than Concord in flavor and aroma after two months of storage at 37°C. Sensory and laboratory an...
